Mission and Beliefs

We at Lincoln High School believe that each person is unique. We affirm that every learner has the right to an opportunity to become a mature and knowledgeable individual through education. Given this opportunity, learners will actively seek knowledge, skills, and attitudes for personal development, contributing to the betterment of themselves, their community, and the world. We recognize the gravity of the problems faced by learners who do not succeed in a traditional educational system. It is the explicit intent of the Board of Education to support an alternative where learners are provided with a variety of educational opportunities and options to meet their specific needs. We emphasize the importance of involving parents and the community in the education process. We believe that educators should utilize their skills, talents, and creativity to develop quality educational options.

Philosophy

An alternative school at Lincoln High is conceived as a living social enterprise. It is designed to be flexible and adaptable, yet remains constant in its overarching purpose. The alternative school promotes a structural framework that caters to individual needs, fostering an environment that encourages creativity, self-motivation, individual responsibility, self-esteem, and overall personal growth. To achieve these goals, we recognize the importance of teamwork, collaboration, open communication, shared leadership, and decision-making as crucial tools and strategies in the educational process.
